Eric Rosenberg
What kind of people are behind Intrepid Challenges and the unique journeys they create?
Eric is a chronic Asian wanderer ever since he was 18. It was then he was given a copy of Jack Kerouac's, "The Dharma Bums", and embarked on a 3 month stay in rural Thailand. Coming home to Canada was the biggest shock for him; how could people have so much material wealth and so little happiness? So since then he's been back and forth across the Pacific a number of times, trying to find the answers and trying to share them with others.
Eric has worn many different shoes in his life; kayak guide, tree planter, furniture mover, pig farmer, rice farmer, educator, university student, and now finds his living in leading cycle and hiking adventures for Intrepid Challenges. He loves the excitement of taking first-time travelers somewhere that's exotic for them, and helping them to experience first-hand the realities of global discrepancies. Having finished his undergraduate degree along with all that travel, he believes that first- hand experience is the best teacher and experiential education is the way to go!
He loves the far West of China, the high mountains and deep valleys that make one feel really far from the world of home.
