Jason Williams
What kind of people are behind Intrepid Challenges and the unique journeys they create?
Jason started his working life in the corporate computing world. But it didn't last long. After 19 months stuck in an office he traded the suit and tie for a flight ticket to Asia and the chance to explore the region by bicycle. Thousands of kilometres later this is still, in his words, "the best way to travel just about anywhere".
Returning to Asia the following year Jason worked as a leader, which took him from Sri Lanka to China and just about everywhere in between. In 2004 Jason launched his own cycling trips to allow him to focus more on unique styles of travelling and to bring a touch of the personal that is often missing in large companies. At the heart of Jason's philosphy is his passion for cycling, the love of Asia's culture and diversity, a desire to get people off the trodden path and to have his passengers learn something along the way. Using the humble bicycle to bring travellers to famous sites and off into small villages and out of the way places.
Jason brings a wide range of skills to his tours from being comfortable conversing in Thai, Lao and Chinese to the highly useful skill of being able to balance all manner of objects on his nose, Jason's tour are nothing if entertaining. You might even learn to juggle as you travel across a country...
